Placing trust in unionists?

IT was interesting that the majority of unionist MLAs opposed same-sex marriage whereas the majority of republican/nationalist MLAs supported it.

Taking the traditional religious composition of political parties, as such it is clear that those from the Protestant community voted against and those from the Roman Catholic community supported it.

I wonder if the Roman Catholic Church, which strongly opposes same-sex marriage, will be advising their people to place their trust in the unionist MLAs at the next election.

Councillor David Barbour
