Police confirm body recovered from Foyle is Jack Glenn

After nearly two months of searching for his remains, 23-year-old Jack Glenn will finally be laid to rest in his home town of Londonderry this weekend.

The search for Jack Glenn had been ongoing since he entered the river on February 2, until the discovery of his body yesterday afternoon.

Over those seven weeks, family and friends of the young man, supported by emergency and rescue services and hundreds of volunteers, have been tirelessly patrolling the river and shoreline so he could finally be laid to rest.

Throughout that time, there have been regular vigils close to the river, during which people prayed for the recovery of Jack’s remains.

His family have now announced his funeral arrangements, following the recovery of his body.

The PSNI have now confirmed the body recovered on Monday, March 27 was indeed that of Jack Glenn.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Jack’s remains will leave his grandparent’s home at Caw Hill Park in the Waterside area of Londonderry at 12:30 for a 1 o’clock service in Ebrington Presbyterian church, followed by burial in Altnagelvin Cemetery.
