Republican boasts have ceased, says Robinson
REPUBLICAN predictions of a united Ireland by 2016 have ceased and unionists are setting the Stormont agenda, DUP leader Peter Robinson has said.
Speaking to a gathering of party members in Cookstown, Mr Robinson said that the “era of weak and compliant UUP rule” was over.
“Nobody is boasting about Irish unification by 2016 anymore,” the First Minister said.
“On all fronts and at every level we have rolled back the nationalist agenda and are following our unionist agenda. We have re-moulded Government to our vision.
“Every impartial observer of the political scene agrees that the DUP is the driving force in Stormont.”
