The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are to visit Northern Ireland before the end of the month, Buckingham Palace has announced.
Welcoming the news, Secretary of State Theresa Villiers said she was “delighted” at news of the Royal visit - due to take place between June 23 and June 25.
“I am absolutely delighted that Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Northern Ireland at the end of June,” she said.
Ms Villiers added: “This will be a wonderful opportunity to show Her Majesty and His Royal Highness some of the best that Northern Ireland has to offer and demonstrate the work being done to bring different parts of the community together and build a more prosperous future.”
The last time Her Majesty visited the province was as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in June 2012.
