The Ballymena community is mourning the tragic death of Ian Pedlow who was killed in an incident on the railway line outside Ballymena on Sunday.
Mr Pedlow (64) had retired from his role as a track maintenance worker with Northern Ireland Railways only a few years ago.
He died on the fourth anniversary of his late wife Jean’s passing. She died in 2013.
Ian, a Ballymena man born and bred, was well known in local lambeg drumming circles and was a longtime supporter of Glasgow Rangers where he was a regular attender at matches throughout his life.
He had a lengthy connection with local marching bands stretching back to his involvement as a founder member of the now defunct Harryville Sons of Ulster and in later years with well known Ballymena oufit, Pride of the Maine.
Members of the drumming fraternity across Co. Antrim and further afield have been paying their own tributes to Mr. Pedlow on social media.
