The Parades Commission last night issued a determination on a parade of some 10,000 loyalists to take place in Belfast this Saturday.
Restrictions upon the ‘Loyalist Peaceful Protestors’ parade, which may be linked to flag protestors, appear standard. The event is to start at City Hall and proceed through Donegall Place, Royal Avenue, North Street, Shankill Road, Woodvale Road and Woodvale Parade. It must leave City Hall by 12.30pm and pass the Royal Avenue/North Street junction by 1pm. Last week Police Federation chairman Terry Spence warned such large numbers in the area could lead to serious violence.
