Drugs worth almost £1 million have been seized by police in south Belfast.
Suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated value of £500,000 was recovered from a property in Rugby Avenue and herbal cannabis to the estimated value of £400,000 was found at a second property in the Haypark Avenue area.
Other drugs paraphernalia were also recovered in the raids.
Detective Chief Inspector Catherine Montgomery of the PSNI’s organised crime branch said: “This significant seizure further reinforces our determination to remove controlled drugs from the streets of Northern Ireland. The potential harm to the public caused by drugs is an issue that the PSNI take seriously.
“We will continue to work in conjunction with partner agencies to ensure the closure of all supply routes and to bring to justice those involved in trafficking drugs at all levels.”
