Arrest after report of shots fired in north Belfast

Shots are believed to have been fired at a car in north Belfast last night, police have said.

This morning, the PSNI announced they had arrested a 24-year-old man over the incident at Oceanic Drive; a republican area close to Duncairn Gardens.

Shortly after 9:50pm it was reported that a number of shots were fired at a Peugoet 206.

The car was parked at the time, and no-one is believed to have been in it.

Two windows were damaged, but there are no reports of injuries.

The male was arrested in the same area following the incident.

The police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward by ringing CID at Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
