Arrest over 1999 informer murder

A 59-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Eamon Collins in Newry 15 years ago.

He was detained in the city yesterday afternoon and a house has been searched. The suspect has been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.

Mr Collins, a one-time IRA informer, was knocked down, beaten and stabbed while out walking his dogs on January 27, 1999 in the Dorans Hill area of the city.
