A Ballymena home was subjected to arson attack last night.
The fire brigade were called at about 1.40am to the house in the Francis Street area.
Several individuals were in the house at the time, and but all escaped injury.
The living room was damaged in the attack, which was described as “crude and dangerous” by Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley.
He said in a statement: “Thankfully we are not dealing with fatalities or serious injury here.
“The attack was crude but also very dangerous. Police officers and the Fire Service arrived quickly on the scene to help the occupants of the house and take them to safety”.
A forensic examination is now underway.
Chief Inspector McCauley said: “Ballymena officers will also be in the area today, so please speak to one of them if you know anything that might assist the investigation.”
