Attempted murder charge

Scott Vineer

Scott Vineer

A teenager has been charged with the attempted murder of Scott Vineer.

The 18-year-old suspect is due to appear in Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday, June 2.

Scott Vineer, an autistic student, had disappeared in September 2012 in Lisburn.

He was then aged 17, and due to his autism he had a highly-structured routine, which it was unusual for him to break.

As concerns for him grew, a police manhunt was launched and the teenager was discovered late the following evening at the rear of a disused furniture showroom on Laganbank Road.

He had suffered serious injuries.
