The family of Coleraine woman Una Finnegan, who was killed in an avalanche in Scotland on Saturday, have paid tribute to her.

On Tuesday night her family released a short statement saying the 25-year-old died doing what she loved.

It said: “Una was a wonderful, outgoing and loving person. We are devastated by her death, but comforted by the knowledge that she was doing what she loved most, climbing with good friends in the hills.

“At this time our thoughts and prayers are for their friend, the sixth member of the group, who is still in hospital. We would be grateful for the privacy to grieve for Una.”
