HOMES have been evacuated in Lurgan after the discovery of a suspicious object on Boxing Day.
Army bomb disposal experts were called to the Toberhawny Hill area of the Co Armagh town on Boxing day at around 4pm.
Residents were evacuated and the road was closed during the security operation.
At around 7pm, a PSNI spokesman said that a viable pipe bomb had been made safe, and that residents had been allowed back into their homes.
The incident lasted around three hours.
