A chippy, taxi office and shop were destroyed after rubbish was stacked up against them and set alight in an early morning fire in Lisburn.
The blaze at the three properties, known locally as the Colin centre, was reported to police at around 4am.
Police have appealed for information.
SDLP councillor for the area Brian Heading said those behind the blaze were reckless.
“I want to condemn what appears to be a calculated and deliberate arson attack which has destroyed three adjoining shops on the outskirts of west Belfast,” he said.
“Those behind the blaze have shown a reckless disregard for the businesses in this area and have potentially jeopardised the safety of others.
“This cynical attack is an affront to people in this community going about their everyday lives and trying to make a living.”
