A leading Church of Ireland clergyman has condemned the recent spate of racist attacks in east Belfast as “utterly disgraceful and unacceptable”.

The Rt Reverend Harold Miller, Bishop of Down & Dromore said we should be welcoming overseas visitors in similar fashion to the welcome Northern Irish people have received in many other parts of the world.

He also urged anyone with any relevant information to ensure the police can bring those responsible before the courts.
