Police say they are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 14-year-old girl who has gone missing.

It is believed Kirsty Salmon, who has been living in the Mullingar area of County Westmeath, may have travelled to Northern Ireland as she is known to frequent Downpatrick, Belfast and Lisburn.

Kirsty is described as around 5’ 4” tall of slim build with dark hair and pale skin. When last seen on the afternoon of 7th August she was wearing black leggings, a white tank top and a black zip-up top.

Police in Downpatrick are appealing for Kirsty or anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
