Cross border arrests over dissident republican activity

Two teens were arrested yesterday in a cross border operation by the PSNI An Garda Siochana investigating dissident republican activity.

The 19 year-old man and 18 year-old woman were arrested in Forkhill in south Armagh and have been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Meanwhile another man was arrested over suspected dissident republican activity following an overnight cross-border police raid.

Officers from the Garda and the PSNI took part in search operations in the north Louth-south Armagh area at about 1am yesterday.

Gardai said a man aged 43 was arrested at premises in the Kilcurry area near Dundalk.

He was detained at Drogheda Garda station under anti-terror laws and searches in the area are continuing.
