Residents have returned to their homes after a suspicious object discovered in Dunraven Parade on Sunday morning was declared a hoax.
Army Technical Officers carried out a controlled explosion at Dunraven Parade which was closed for a time.
Police said the street has been re-opened.
DUP MLA Robin Newtown condemned those behind the hoax.
“Whoever created the bomb hoax should be ashamed as residents for safety reasons are put out of their homes,” he said.
“Often the unsung heroes of such a situation are the army bomb squad personnel who directly place their lives on the line at every incident.
“We should be grateful to these highly skilled individuals and remember the sacrifices they have made and continue to make for our security.”
