A young man has died after a car crash on the Doagh Road, Ballyclare.

The road was shut between Ballyclare Cemetery – close to where the accident occurred – and the village of Doagh itself.

It reopened before 10am this morning.

At 10.45am, police said man in his 20s had died.

He had been travelling in the red Citroen C2 car which that left the road.

Two other men who were in the vehicle were taken to Antrim Area Hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police called on anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was travelling on the Doagh Road around that time, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station by ringing the non-emergency number 101.
