A FIRE was extinguished on a ship docked at Belfast on Monday, after more than 50 firefighters were deployed.
The rescue services were called to the ship berthed at Stormont Wharf, Duncrue shortly after 12pm after a fire broke out on a digger aboard the vessel.
“Ten Fire Appliances and around 50 Firefighters, including our Marine Response Team and Specialist Rescue Team, were mobilised to deal with the incident,” said a spokesperson for the NI Fire and Rescue Service.
“Fire Crews extinguished the fire on board the ship. There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
