The Ballymoney-born soldier murdered in his Shropshire base earlier this year will be buried following a funeral service in Portrush this morning.

Royal Irish Regiment corporal Geoffrey McNeill, 32, was found dead at Clive Barracks, Tern Hill on March 8. A 23-year-old soldier from the same regiment, Richard Farrell, has been charged with the murder of the former Coleraine Boys’ Secondary pupil.

Cpl McNeill’s funeral will take place, with full military honours, at Ballywillan Presbyterian Church.
