Gun uncovered in west Belfast

PSNI call for information

A loaded firearm has been found in west Belfast.

Detectives at Woodbourne Police Station have launched an investigation after the find, which saw the Army move in and render the weapon safe.

The type of gun in question is not known.

It was discovered in North Howard Street.

Detective Inspector Nicola Scott said: “The weapon was handed into police this morning by a member of the public who found it in the underground car park of an apartment block”.
