First Minister Peter Robinson handed a letter from terror victims to the Libyan prime minister this week that called for compensation for those targeted with Semtex supplied to the IRA by Col Gaddaffi.

Libyan premier Ali Zeidan attended the G8 conference this week and afterwards met Mr Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.

DUP MLA Arlene Foster confirmed that Mr Robinson handed Mr Zeidan a letter from Stephen Gault, who lost his father in the Enniskillen Poppy Day bombing in 1987 when Libyan-supplied Semtex was used to kill 12 people.

“It was a kick in the teeth that Mr Zeidan was not able to meet victims but went on to meet victim-maker Martin McGuinness instead,” Mr Gault said.

“So Arlene Foster arranged for Peter Robinson to hand Mr Zeidan a letter from us instead.

“Our battle for compensation has been going on for 12 years.”
