A High Court judge has thrown out a legal bid to reduce the number of loyalist protestors allowed at an anti-internment parade in Belfast city centre on Sunday.

One of those taking part in the march sought to judicially review the Parades Commission’s decision to permit 400 people in the Lower Garfield Street area.

Even though the commission imposed limits on the size of the protests, it was claimed that the numbers should be scaled back in light of rioting which erupted at last year’s event.

But at an emergency hearing on Friday the judge ruled the application should be dismissed.
