A Chinese man was remanded into custody on Saturday accused of laundering more than £150,000.
Standing in the dock of Belfast Magistrates Court beside an interpreter, 23-year-old Wen Zyang was charged with three counts of possessing and transferring criminal property on two dates last December and again last Thursday, March 7, amounting to a total of £155,000.
Zyang, of no fixed address, was further charged with possessing three false passports on March 7.
No details surrounding the allegations were opened in court and as no bail application was lodged on Zyang’s behalf, District Judge ken Nixon remanded him into custody to appear again via videolink on Wednesday March 13.
