Three male motrocyclists have died on our roads in six days.

An 83-year-old man has died following a two vehicle traffic collision in Londonderry on Saturday.

The accident - involving a BMW X1 and Chevrolet - occurred on the Glenshane Road around 11.15am and the dead man has been named as William Stinson from the Foyle area.

A woman also involved in the incident was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The Glenshane Road was closed for several hours with diversions in place at the Lismacarroll Road and the Tamnaherin Road.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the road traffic incident, or who was travelling in the area at the time, to contact Strand Road police station or the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple on 0845 600 8000.
