Tribute has been paid to George Wilson who died tragically in an accident at his work in Lisnaskea on Saturday morning.
DUP MLA Arlene Foster knew Mr Wilson and described him as a “lovely man who lived for his family”.
Mr Wilson, who was from Newtownbutler, died at Monaghan’s garage on Main Street in what is thought to be a work-related accident.
Mrs Foster, who is Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, said the community was “devastated” by what had happened.
Mrs Foster said she regularly visited Monaghan’s and found George to be “always pleasant and smiling”.
“He was a real character. Always smiling and having a laugh. All the rest of the guys in Monaghan’s will be devasted,” she said.
“It is terrible for his wife Jennifer, his two girls Amy and Megan, and the whole family.
“The entire community is in shock and deeply saddened by this tragic death.
“Lisnaskea is a very close-knit community.
“Everyone will rally to help as this family grieves this sudden loss on the mouth of Christmas.
“I know everyone affected by this tragedy will be foremost in our prayers.”
A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 50s at a garage on Main Street, Lisnaskea this morning, Saturday, December 7.”
Officials from the Health and Safety Executive have been informed.
Mrs Foster, who is also Minister for Health and Safety, added that she has not yet been briefed on what happened.
