Preparations are under way for the sixth Annual News Letter Festival of Marching Bands in association with the Ulster Bands Forum and sponsored by Diane Dodds MEP.

The Festival of Marching Bands will take place this year on Friday, October 17 in the Ulster Hall, Belfast. The Festival has firmly cemented itself as an eagerly awaited feature of the Ulster Band year, with bands from across the Province now requesting to become involved.

To date nearly 50 bands will have taken part, with every county of Northern Ireland represented and every genre and sub genre of marching music on display.

The Festival prides itself on combining high quality along with a good geographical spread and being representative of Ulster’s bands, and this year is no different.

For 2014 we have on display eight bands each of whom offers their own unique contribution to a massive Ulster Band movement.

This year’s line-up includes:

• Sir George White Memorial Flute Broughshane

• Parkinson Accordion East Belfast

• Robert Graham Memorial Flute Crawfordsburn

• Ballyhalbert Flute

• Legananny Accordion Castlewellan

• Dunmurry Protestant Boys Flute

• Skeogh Flute Dromore

• Hamiltonsbawn Silver

All in all, it’s a fantastic line-up of talent from across Ulster, one that’s sure to provide a prestigious night of excellent musical entertainment.

All seats are £12 per ticket.

Tickets are available for purchase from the Ulster Hall Box Office 028 9033 4455.
