An arson attack on a house in Armagh in the early hours of today has been condemned.
Police in Armagh are appealing for information about the incident at Mullacreevie Park area around 2.10am today.
Armagh Sergeant Barbara McNally said:”It is believed that damage was caused to the front of the property, but no one is believed to have been injured. Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished. One man was in the house at the time of the incident.”
Sinn Fein councillor Gareth Keating said: “This attack on a house in Mullacreevie Park must be condemned.
“It appears that whoever was responsible got the wrong house but regardless of that there can be no justification for this type of incident.
“The people of the area do not want this type of criminality.”
He appealed for anyone with information to contact the PSNI.
