Train passengers were delayed for more than an hour this morning after the 07.25am train from Great Victoria Street to Lisburn “failed at Dunmurry station”.

A Translink spokeswoman said “enginners attended the scene and the line was cleared around 08.40am”.

She said the breakdown also impacted on the Newry, Portadown, Lisburn to Belfast services.

“It also impacted on the Enterprise service to Dublin,” she added.

“Passengers used their tickets on scheduled bus services.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the mechanical failure.”
