A man has escaped injury when his car was hijacked in Belfast.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident in the St James’s Parade area of the city at about 7.40pm last night.
The victim was ordered out of his car by two unknown men, who had their faces covered.
The PSNI said the pair fled in the car, a blue Citroen, which was found burnt-out a short time later on the Whiterock Road.
“The man was not injured during this incident, however he was left badly shaken,” a spokeswoman added.
Elsewhere a pensioner was left shaken after two men conned their way into his home and stole money.
The burglary happened in the Hillview Park area of Newtownabbey at approximately 7pm on Friday.
The PSNI said two men called at the home of the victim, who was aged in his 70s, and entered the house, claiming they knew him.
“They stole a sum of money from the house before leaving,” a spokeswoman said.
“The occupier was left very badly shaken.”
