PSNI investigate robbery and attempted robbery, north Belfast



Police are appealing for information after a robbery and an attempted robbery in north Belfast.

In the first incident, reported to police aruond 5.25pm, a man entered a newsagents on Ballygomartin Road and demanded money from the till. He claimed to have a knife but none was seen by staff who refused to hand over cash.

He then left the scene empty handed.

A short time later, at around 6pm, staff at a frozen foods store on Ballysillan Road reported being robbed by a male wielding a knife.

The man demanded money from the tills and escaped with a sum of cash.

Police believe the same male may have been responsible for both incidents and are appealing for witnesses.
