The PSNI officer who was injured with a stanley knife during a disturbance in north Belfast has been released from hospital, it has been confirmed.

The officer was injured as he attended a disturbance at the loyalist protest camp on Twaddell Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

The PSNI spokesman added that a 16-year-old “remains in custody assisting police with their inquiries in connection with the assault and the attempt to damage the banner”.
