Police have seized two suspected pipe bombs in the Strabane area.
Detectives from PSNI Serious Crime Branch made the seizure while investigating dissident republican activity on Monday evening, 16 June.
SDLP Strabane Councillor Patsy Kelly said: “This is a very worrying development, coming just one day after police found a number of objects, including two handguns and petrol bombs.
“It is a relief the objects were discovered, however, to know there are people in the Strabane area who are intent on causing such disruption is extremely worrying.
“These are not the type of headlines the good people of Strabane want or deserve. We all thought and hoped these days were behind us.
“Whoever is responsible for this reckless activity must understand they have nothing to offer. So many people are working hard to move Strabane forward, but those behind these devices are trying to drag us all back to worse times. People must be united and strong in rejecting their ways.”
