A long-standing member of the PUP has received a bullet and sympathy car in the post, a party spokesperson said.
It is not known when Ken Wilkinson received the items but the spokesperson said his criticism of drug dealers and criminals may be the reason behind it.
The spokesperson added that Mr Wilkinson’s home has been attacked several times and condemned what they termed “the latest attempt to threaten and intimidate a party member”.
The party spokesperson said: “Ken Wilkinson has been an outspoken critic of those involved in criminality and drug dealing. For this reason he has had numerous attacks on his home and property.
“Attacks like this only serve to strengthen the resolve of Ken and the PUP in standing up against those who seek to destroy our communities through their actions.
“We will continue to work to improve the lives of those living in local communities.”
A spokesman for the PSNI said: “We do not discuss the security of any individual. However, if we receive information that a person’s life may be at risk we will inform the relevant persons accordingly. We never ignore anything which may put an individual at risk.”
