A security alert in south Belfast is ongoing following the report of a suspicious object on the lines.
ATO were tasked to Finaghy Halt railway station on Thursday afternoon and residents living in the area have been out of their homes ever since.
The station is closed to trains and Finaghy Road North was closed at its junction with Finaghy Park Central and Grangeville Gardens.
Finaghy Road North is also closed at its junction with Ardmore Park South.
A number of homes have also been evacuated in the areas of Finaghy Road North, Finaghy Park Central, Finaghy Park North, Ardmore Avenue and Diamond Gardens.
The Lowe Memorial Church on the Upper Lisburn Road was made available for evacuated residents in need of shelter.
A Red Cross bus was at the church to assist any evacuated residents.
Police have thanked everyone for their patience as the matter is investigated.
