Second motorbike death in 24 hours on Ulster roads

A man died after a crash between his motorbike and a tractor and trailer shortly after midday on Saturday, police have confirmed.

The 28 year-old died after the collision on the Baranailt Road in Limavady.

Two other men aged in their 20s who were travelling on a second motorbike have been taken to hospital for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the tractor was not injured.

It is the third fatality on local roads in the space of six days.

Richard Brown, 44, from Lisbellaw died after his motorcycle was in collision with a tractor at around 8.15pm on Friday on the Belfast Road in Fivemiletown.

On Monday Alan Kelso from Antrim died when his Honda motorcycle struck a telegraph pole on Crumlin’s Dungonnell Road.
