Three elderly people injured in New Years Eve crash

Three elderly people - two men aged 61-years and 71-years and a 68-year-old woman - were injured and taken to Craigavon area Hospital after a two car collision in Co Armagh.

The collision involving a black coloured Volkswagen Polo and a black coloured Mitsubishi Shogun happened shortly after 4.30pm on the Derrytrasna Road.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said two of those injured are in a “stable condition”.

She added the third person is “critical but stable” in Intensive Care.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Derrytrasna Road around the time to contact them at Lurgan Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
