Three men injured in sledgehammer attack

Three men have been assaulted by a masked gang wielding sledgehammers and baseball bats at a house in Co Londonderry.

Police are appealing for information about the incident at a house at Castle Park, Tobermore area yesterday evening.

It was reported to police that shortly after 10pm “four masked men entered a house in the area armed with baseball bats and sledgehammers”.

The PSNI spokesman said they understand that three males were assaulted during the incident.

“A 20-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries to his arm and head, that are not believed to be life threatening,” said the PSNI spokesman.

“Two males, who were also assaulted during the incident were not believed to have received any serious injuries.”
