Two men have been arrested in connection with the bomb attack at Victoria Square in central Belfast on November 24.

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch arrested the men - aged 44-years and 45-years - in north Belfast today.

They are being questioned in Antrim Serious Crime suite.

Earlier police said the 130lb proxy car bomb intended to blow up the underground car park of one of Belfast’s main shopping centres “could have been catastrophic for Belfast and Northern Ireland”.
