Two killed in separate Ulster road accidents

Two men died yesterday after separate road traffic collisions in Co Down.

A 36-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a vehicle at Deerpark Road, Portaferry, at about 2:10pm.

Then, at 3pm, a 68-year-old man died when his mobility scooter was involved in a collision at Windsor Hill in Newry.

Police later named him as Wilfred Vaughan from Newry.

Another man went to hospital for non-life threatening injuries following the collision. Police have appealed to witnesses to come forward.
