Waiting for Video...

TUV leader Jim Allister has sounded a warning to the DUP after polling almost 76,000 first preference votes in the European election.

Speaking after failing to win one of the three Northern Ireland seats, the North Antrim MLA said his “hand had been strengthened” by the level of support.

In a message to DUP leader Peter Robinson, he said: “We are on your case”.

Mr Allister came fifth in terms of first preference votes behind Martina Anderson (SF), Diane Dodds (DUP), Jim Nicholson (UUP) and Alex Attwood (SDLP).
