Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old woman has died following a road traffic collision on the Portaferry Road, Newtownards on Sunday night.
The PSNI said she was the driver of a silver coloured Peugeot car that was involved in a collision with a blue coloured Audi shortly before 8.30pm. The male driver and passenger of the Audi were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Portaferry Road around the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or local police in Newtownards on the non-emergency number 101.
The Portaferry Road remains closed on Monday morning.
Also on Sunday night, there was a one-vehicle crash in Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, with one female taken to South West Acute Hospital with serious injuries.
A white coloured Renault Clio car was involved in the collision that occurred at around 8pm. The female driver, aged in her twenties, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injures.
Police are also appealling for anyone who witnessed this collision or anyone who was travelling on the Lisnaskea Road around the time of the collision to contact them at Lisnaskea Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
