Woman arrested after man stabbed in Coleraine

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested after a man was assaulted and stabbed at Strand Road, Coleraine, in the early hours of today. [Sunday May 4]

Just after midnight it was reported the 42-year-old man was assaulted close to a car park in the area.

A PSNI spokesman said: “It is believed the man received stab wounds to his back and body during the incident.

“At this stage, it is not unknown how many persons were involved in the assault.”

The victim was taken to hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The 26-year-old woman is currently helping police with their inquiries.

Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Police at Coleraine on the new non-emergency number, 101.
