The mother-in-law of a woman killed on Christmas Eve when the car she was in struck a wandering horse has said she was devastated to hear a man died in similar circumstances yesterday just yards from the same spot.
Just after midnight on Tuesday a Renault Scenic car carrying five men, believed to be foreign nationals all returning from work, struck a horse on the A5 Doogary Road outside Omagh.
One of the men died at the scene, another is in a serious but stable condition in hospital and three others were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The mother-in-law of the woman who was tragically killed in similar circumstances 22 years ago told the News Letter the news has brought everything back to her.
The issue of horses in fields alongside that road is one which needs to be addressed according to local people in the area.
