The 35-year-old woman critically injured in a road crash on Friday morning has died in hospital.

She was Brenda Anne Kennedy from the Creagh Hill area of Toomebridge.

She was injured when her car was in collision with a mini-bus in Desertmartin in County Londonderry.

A number of school children were also hurt in the crash on the Roshure Road.

The bus driver was treated at the scene for his injuries.

The woman died in Antrim Area Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

The bus was taking pupils to Kilronan School for children with special needs.

A woman driver, a female school attendant, an eight-year-old girl and an 18-year-old disabled man - who were all on the mini-bus - were taken to hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
