Big-hearted Cristiano Ronaldo – who was recently in Belfast knocking in a hat-trick against Northern Ireland – has sent a unique shirt worn by him to a Manchester United fan by way of apology after breaking off an appointment.
Ronaldo had arranged to meet long time friend Keith Norris and his family in the Hilton Hotel in Belfast on the afternoon of the match between Northern Ireland and Portugal.
However, a longer than expected Portugal team meeting and the fact Keith forgot to bring his match tickets meant he had to leave without meeting Cristiano.
Keith said: “I think the staff in the Hilton Hotel thought I was a nutter.”
Then a friend arrived from Madrid at the weekend with a special shirt, followed by a phone call from a mutual friend at Real Madrid to say Cristiano felt bad about missing the meeting, and sent him a unique shirt instead.
