With another election looming, remnants from the last poll are still on display in parts of Northern Ireland.

Election posters remain dotted throughout the Province with the News Letter having been made aware of two areas in particular in Belfast.

Posters for Sinn Fein’s Mairtin O Muilleoir are still dominating the Lisburn Road while Gerry Kelly from the same party remains prominent in poster form on the Shore Road.

Sinn Fein were contacted on Sunday and again on Monday about their failure to remove election posters and have not provided a response to the News Letter.

Posters are meant to be removed within 14 days of the close of polls in the election to which they relate. It is up to local councils to take action.

Some have suggested on social media that the election posters are not late being taken down, they are early going up for the next election.

Although said in jest, the comments could ring true.
