William Crawley interviews Jim Wells MLA, beside (in blue) Ulster Unionist leader Mike Nesbitt, at the 30th birthday celebrations today for BBC Radio Ulster’s Talkback.

Crawley, the show’s regular anchor, hosted the two hour anniversary programme live from Broadcasting House in Belfast.

He was joined by members of the public who regularly phone in and politicians and commentators who are guests. A

lso present was the Irish News editor, Noel Doran, the News Letter deputy editor, Ben Lowry, and the paper’s columnist Alex Kane.

Contributors who joined the celebrations from outside the studio included the first minister, Arlene Foster.

Past and present members of the production team shared recollections of Talkback and its three other hosts: Barry Cowan, David Dunseith and Wendy Austin.
