An 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent but has now been released unconditionally.

Ross Hussey, Ulster Unionist MLA for West Tyrone, said: “This was a horrific and cowardly attack. It was pure thuggery at its lowest level and now a young man and his family are going through hell because of it. It is disgusting and nothing can justify it.

“My thoughts and prayers are with this young man and his family and I urge anyone who has any information to contact the police on 101, Crimestoppers or by calling into a police station. If these thugs strike again they could kill someone.”
